I'm Hemant — a software engineer who likes the parts of the stack users never see: login systems, data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and the monitoring that tells you the truth at 3 a.m. I studied computer science at BITS Pilani and have spent my career on platform teams where the numbers are unforgiving — hundreds of thousands of requests a minute, real money, real PII.

Right now I work on infrastructure at Keychain: search, data replication, developer platforms, and cost — the kind of work where success is measured in minutes of MTTR and dollars saved per month.

  1. Aug 2025 — present

    Software Engineer · Keychain

    Platform and infrastructure engineering — search, data replication, observability, and the internal developer platform.

    • Led the Algolia → Typesense search migration, cutting infrastructure costs by $40K/month.
    • Built monitoring and alerting across Java, Python, and Node.js services, AWS, and Kubernetes — reducing MTTR to 15 minutes.
    • Designed a self-hosted data-migration platform on PeerDB, replacing AWS DMS for PostgreSQL replication with DDL sync — 40% faster syncs, $4K/month saved.
    • Led development of the internal developer platform: onboarding/offboarding, app config management, database sync pipelines, and JIT database access — contributing to SOC 2 compliance.
    • Built a rate-limiting service on Envoy Gateway with configurable per-route limits.
    • Built a CDC pipeline (self-hosted PeerDB + custom SNS connector) enabling selective reindexing and intelligent cache invalidation.
    • Integrated FingerprintJS with Cloudflare to auto-block malicious IPs, sharply reducing scraping and abusive traffic.

    Software Engineer · Navi Technologies

    Core platform work behind the Navi app — login, orchestration, server-driven UI, and PII security at scale.

    • Maintained Navi's complete login system — 450K login requests/min, securely authenticating 1.4M requests/min across services.
    • Built a low-code orchestration framework powering 16 user journeys and 150K+ daily new-user onboardings.
    • Built a server-driven screen platform enabling 300+ dynamic screens across app modules, reducing reliance on native code.
    • Implemented a PII tokenization system (20K reads / 5K writes per second) and migrated all customer PII onto it.
    • Shipped a personalized nudge platform driving a 70% customer-retention rate for bill payments.
    • Engineered datasource orchestration handling the same traffic with 70% fewer resources.
    • Built config unit-test auto-generation, cutting overall testing time by 60%.
    • Recognized with the Navi Spearhead award — top performer, Oct '24 quarter.
